An attorney since 1986, Mr. Kent has been an associate with Brayton Purcell since 1995. He works mainly in the areas of elder abuse (medical, financial, and nursing home issues), funeral and crematory law (negligent handling of decedent's remains), medical malpractice, unlawful business practices, toxic torts, and personal injury. In a recent landmark case, his clients won a large verdict against a physician for undermedicating their terminally ill father, who was unnecessarily allowed to die in extreme pain. This was the first time a physician had been liable for elder abuse in a civil trial.

Mr. Kent currently volunteers his time as a Marin County Superior Court Settlement Panelist. For the past seven years he served on the board of directors of the Legal Aid of the North Bay and served as Chairman of the Board for Napa Legal Aid. For seven years in a row, he received the Wiley Manuel Award for Pro Bono Service for his pro bono legal service work in both Marin and Napa Counties.
